Q: Tips and advice on buying a used Bmw M3. help plz?
i want a used m3 PREFERABLY certified pre owned. something under 35,000. Ive heard that the repairs can cost alot thats why im wanting a CPO. If you think i shouldent get this car then what would be a good alternative?

A: - 2001- (first quarter) 2003 S54 rod bearing engine recalls
- 50-60K miles Inspection 2 should done including valve adjustments
*higher milage is fine long as its been taken care of.
-have a trust worthy mechanic to spec it before hand.
- make sure the SMG software has been updated by dealer.

Honestly, M3 is good in reliability overall except the electronic gadgets inside the car. Only problem I had is my blower fuse keeps blowing every 2-3 months which is an easy fix..other then that its an excellent car as long as you take good care of it. *change oil between 4K-7K rather then 15K.* Also M3 requires rear michelin tires every 10-12k miles and 15k for the front @ $350-400 EACH. I get around 13.5 mpg city/highway together. For SMG equipped car, ask the dealer about how many times previous owner used “launch control” so you get the feel on how much its been abused. SMG failure does cost an arm and a leg. Clutch usually last around 80K-100K for SMG and it does take more effort replacing it then a 6 Speed.
hope this help

Q: Should I buy an 08′ M3 or 09′ 370Z?
hey guys I’m stuck on a little choice I’ve been debating on for a couple weeks now. I’m in the market to buy a new car and wanted to upgrade from my 1992 Nissan 300ZX; I was either going to get a certified pre-owned 08 BMW M3 for $52,000 OR buy the 09 Nissan 370Z for $27,000 (I get a discount) and throw in a GTM HR Twin Turbo kit for $15,000 rated at about 600 rwhp. I think the Nissan is the smarter buy considering it will be more dependable (not so much with a TT) but much easier to work on myself considering much of the M3 work must be done at a dealer. Stock-wise there is no comparison, the M3 is much quicker and all-around unbeatable from a Z stand-point but I think the 370Z with the TT kit will allow it to torch practically anything on the road.
I would get an EVO but EEEEVVEERRRYYYOONNNEEE has them, their too cheesy for me plus I’m thinking I stick with the Z’s since I know how to work on them. As far as the engine goes, I was planning on putting in a GTM Stage 6 HR 4.5L Sleeved STROKER Shortblock then boosting it.

A: M3 dude!
