Q: Why are car dealers selling 2008 Certified pre-owned BMW models that were not previousely demo cars?
I thought usually pre-owned cars were the ones that just got off lease and/or demo cars. But aren’t leases usually more than 1 year? Are these pre-owned cars lemons?
I was looking through BMW inventory.
The dealer said these are not demos. Theses models do not have high mileage. But do they give out brand new cars as loaners?

A: A 2008 pre-owned could be a repo, demo, corporate car or rental.
We will be seeing alot of repos in the future.
Pre-owned just means that they have already been retailed and on the street. Every used car is pre-owned.

Q: Any experience with BMW certified pre owned warranty?
I am thinking of buying a 2006 BMW 330i it is certified pre owned by BMW,the dealer tellls me for the next 6 years all I will pay for is fuel and tires.Has anyone had any experience with this type of warranty? Is this to good to be true?

A: that is not true.

if you purchased a bmw certified pre owned vehicle then you still have to pay for regular, wear and tear maintanence such as oil changes, brakes, windshield wiper blades, etc.

in order to only have to pay for fuel and tired you have to get the full maintanence program, on top of the warranty. but you can only get this on BRAND NEW bmw’s

Q: How much would a certified pre-owned BMW 5 series cost to lease or finance?
I have recently acquired a steady cash flow and I would like to either lease or finance a 2006 or 2007 5 series.

I would like to know how much people usually pay a month for one.

Thanks for the help!

A: Not a bad idea, one of the best cars that they make. . .

The true rating though for you payment is all based on your credit score I bought an E39 in 2006 and I pay $540 a month, my friend also bought an E39 and pays $700 a month. . .

but to answer your question anywhere between this area is reasonable. .. But I have heard of people paying as much as $800-$900 brand new

Q: Can I service my BMW which is on pre-owned warranty ouside a BMW dealership like MIDAS?
I bought a BMW from a private seller and it is under pre-owned waranty until 2009. Can i service it outside a BMW dealership and still keep my pre-owned warranty. Reasons – Cheaper and easy to find service appointments.

A: Is it a BMW warranty or another extended extended warranty companies coverage plan? If it the latter, you can go anywhere you please. If it’s an extended BMW contract call any official BMW Dealership and ask what their policy is. Don’t for gosh sakes ever go to Midas for exhaust replacement, or any mechanical work. Deal with Monroe Muffler. All their exhaust parts are Walker products, the best aftermarket parts available. Most independent mechanics use Walker products. Avoid quick change oil places like the bubonic plague. Always go th an independent mechanic or a new car dealership. Less horrifying mistakes would be made there. For intricate mechanical work I’d certainly depend on a BMW dealership. You have a valuable piece, I certainly would not let any Tom Dick or Harry try to muddle through an engine that requires very specialized tools to do the job correctly.

Q: Does anyone have a copy of the Certified Pre-Owned BMW Protection Plan Consumer Information Statement?
I would like to see specifically what is not covered under the plan & all references point back to this document. Said is available for inspection at a dealer, of course I am not a dealer at the present time. I’m looking for a digital copy, if one exists.

A: http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/cpo/warranty/default.aspx

Q: I am considering buying either a new Camry LEX or a certified pre-owned BMW 325i. Which is a better value?
2005 BM@ 325i or 2007 Toyota Camry LEX?

A: Given the choice of new or pre-owned, go for the new product. The warranty guarantee on the new will be better, and the New has never been abused, or the not maintained. The BMW certified pre-owned is just marketing non sense. If you go with a used car, it’s still a used car. The “certified” stuff is nonsense. I’ve worked at new car dealers [Chevy] where we have “certified”. I’ve seen starters go bad, and get turned down because they went ‘bad” BECAUSE one of the bolts holding them on came loose. So the customer pays for the new starter because a BOLT CAME LOOSE, the bolts aren’t covered. Go with the new product.

Q: What actor plays Kyle in the new BMW Pre-Owned TV commercial?
I saw the commercial today and I can’t place where I saw this kid and it’s bugging me now… In the commercial he is shooting baskets while his mom yells at him… The question is where have I seen this kid before?? I want to say he played an excitable geek on TV or a movie…

A: He was the geeky son on Michael Rappaport’s sitcom “War at Home” which used to be on Fox.

Q: Can you lease a certified pre-owned BMW?
I was looking on the Certified Pre-owned section of the BMW website earlier and i came across a section that said you can lease a certified pre-owned car just like a new car. I wasn’t sure if i was Reading this correctly or if there is a catch to this. Does anybody know of anyone that has done this before? Is this true?

A: I considered leasing a CPO’d 2006 M5 but there is no such thing. I was told by several dealers that some specific models of BMW (i.e. the M models) cannot be made into a CPO. That may or may not be an issue for you.

The important thing are the lease details (rate, residual, etc.) From what I found, the lease on a new car had so many more incentives, the payments on a used car became almost as expensive as a new one. Factor in the free maintenance, it became a no-brainer. Long story short-I leased a new M5.

Q: I have a 2001 pre-owned BMW. Is there a site I can go to to see all the work that’s been done on it?
like can I put in my VIN number and find out what’s been done to it for FREE???? Like I know you have to pay for a carfax report, and they don’t even show all the servicing it has had a stuff

A: Well there are no actual site to see all works been done on it, but if it’s a Bimmer all you have to do is go to a BMW Dealer and with just your key they could run up everything that was done at the BMW Dealer…If your car was not maintenance at the Dealer than Pretty much you are out of luck…Maybe Carfax might have those…not wuite sure on how details it is too…

Q: Do people like the BMW X3? I am looking at 2006 or newer certified pre-owned?
What are people’s opinion of the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program? The BMW dealer near me has sales on CPO X3’s for the same price as a Chevy Equniox.

A: i think it is very impressive in performance, nice ride!

Q: should i get a new volkswagen jetta or a pre-owned bmw 3281 sedan?
im looking for my first car. which do you think i should get?

A: economically speaking you should never buy a new car. The minute you sign the papers and drive the car off the lot the value of the car drops by 20% or more. Used cars that are no more than 2 years old are the best value. They still have warranties and you are not paying for the new car hype such as all the amenities that dealers add on to the sticker price and you also save on your insurance premiums because you won’t owe more than what your car than it is worth…if you do buy the new car be sure to purchase “gap” insurance so if you are involved in an accident insurance will pay off the debt not just what they deem the value of the car which I guarantee will be less than what you will still owe you will be responsible for the amount left after insurance pays and have no car

Q: Where can i find a pre-owned BMW M3 2002-2004?
i live in california and im looking for a pre owned bmw m3, particularly SMG transmission. im looking to pay no more than 35,000. if anyone knows of a dealership that currently has one or a private seller please email me at camee9000@hotmail.com.

A: Have you tried autotrader.com, or carmax(dealership), or even Ebay… or another website, autos.com.

Q: Certified Pre-owned BMW?
im interested in bying a certified pre-owned bmw either an x5 or any of the m series. wheres the best place to look?

A: The best place would either be your local BMW dealer, or any other up-scale auto dealer in your area.. ie) Mercedes, Audi, Lexus dealers…they usually have a large used car inventory…Good Luck!!!
A BMW from another dealer might not be certified, however, if it is new enough, it will still be under its factory warranty

Q: I am in bavaria germany near grafenveohr and I am looking for a pre-owned BMW , anybody got any suggestions?

A: Let’s be clear: You are presently in Grafenwoehr, Germany, a few kilometers down the road from Munich, the worldwide headquarters for BMW AG, and you are wondering where you should look for a pre-owned BMW?

A: Buy the pre owned you lose less money. The minute you drive a car off the lot you lose.
